His deep understanding of the industry combined with his thoughtful and strategic approach to nurturing relationships has helped him win partnership, investment, and acquisition opportunities with global data companies. Before joining Trulioo, Anatoly was the Corporate Development and Strategy lead at Experian Consumer Services.



Ben Jackson

Ben is Director of Mercator Advisory Group's Prepaid Advisory Service. Ben has over 10 years of experience in banking and payments research and is an expert on applying prepaid to help organizations solve tactical and strategic problems.

Ben has advised financial institutions on launching prepaid programs, helped retailers evaluate closed-loop strategies, and worked with third party processors and program managers on all aspects of their programs. He has also been instrumental in producing Mercator Advisory Group's annual benchmarks on the prepaid industry that document the size and shape of the overall prepaid market.

Brad Fauss

Brad Fauss is the former President and CEO of the Network Branded Prepaid Card Association (NBPCA),
a non-profit trade organization dedicated to educate, advocate, protect and promote the prepaid card industry to government, media, and consumers.  Mr. Fauss has served as either an Advisory Board Member or as a Director of the NBPCA since its inception in 2006. 

Mr. Fauss is a nationally recognized payments lawyer and business executive with more than 15 years of experience in the payments industry including senior leadership positions with Brightwell Payments, TSYS Prepaid and Global Payments, among others.  Before working as an in house lawyer, Mr. Fauss practiced law with Alston & Bird LLP in Atlanta, Georgia and Parker, Poe, Adams, and Bernstein, LLP, in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Daniel and his team built Koho for two reasons: banks shouldn’t profit from fees — hidden or otherwise — and because technology can financially empower people to live better lives. Prior to Koho, Daniel was a co-founder of KineticorRenewables, a wind energy company acquired by Algonquin Power (TSX:AQN).

David is the former founder, CEO and Chairman of Berkeley Payment Solutions. During his tenure at the helm of Berkeley, the company was recognized as one of the fastest-growing companies in Canada from 2011 to 2015, the fastest growing Canadian financial services company in 2014, and among the fastest growing technology companies in Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500. In this capacity, David developed and delivered innovative payment solutions to many of North America’s most prominent and respected companies. He is also regularly sought after as a payments industry expert and has been featured in Canadian and U.S. publications including: The Globe and Mail, National Post, Canadian Business, Payments Business, Paybefore Magazine, and Marketing Magazine, among others.

Eileen Mercier

Mrs. Mercier is the immediate past Chair of the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan Board and a director of several  corporations. She has agreed to become the Chair of the Canadian Payments Association in July of 2015.

From 1995 to 2003, she ran her own management-consulting firm, Finvoy Management Inc., specializing in financial strategy, restructuring and corporate governance issues.  Prior to that time, she was Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Abitibi-Price.

Greg Wolfond

Greg is the founder of SecureKey and brings more than 30 years of experience in fintech, security and mobile solutions to his role as Chief Executive Officer.  Greg is a serial entrepreneurial whose earlier ventures include Footprint Software Inc., a financial software company he sold to IBM, and 724 Solutions Inc., a wireless infrastructure software provider he took public.  He sits on several boards and has been recognized as one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 as well as Entrepreneur of the Year.  Greg holds a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Life Sciences from the University of Toronto.


Jacqueline Shinfield

Jacqueline Shinfield is a Partner in the Financial Services Group at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP. Jacqueline's practice focuses on all aspects of regulatory compliance in the retail financial services and payments industry at both the federal and provincial level with a special emphasis on payment card and payment system compliance.

Jacqueline has particular expertise in the payment industry and is a frequent speaker on the Canadian payment landscape and regulatory compliance in the payments arena. Lisa Covens

As a Vice President at Leger, Lisa manages the Communications and Public Affairs practice and is a senior member of the Toronto office.  In her fourteen years with Leger, Lisa has worked on a variety of client accounts including nearly all major Communications firms in Canada.  She regularly consults with the other Leger offices on best practices of PR research. Lisa is an active member of CPRS, participating both as a Mentor and an Ace Awards Judge.

Lisa graduated from McMaster University in 1998 with an Honours Degree in Political Science.  She furthered her studies, completing her Master’s Degree in Political Science in 2000 at McMaster University with a focus on comparative politics, research methods, and statistical analysis.

Susan Herbst-Murphy

Consumer Credit & Payments Industry Expert

Susan Herbst-Murphy is the Consumer Credit and Payments Industry Expert at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia’s Payment Cards Center.  She joined the PCC after retiring from a career in commercial banking where she was involved with all aspects of the payment card system:  issuing and acquiring; consumer and commercial; debit, credit and prepaid.  Herbst-Murphy was engaged in the launch and management of some of the earliest network branded prepaid card products.  She was also was involved in the formation of the National Branded Prepaid Card Association in the U.S.

Since leaving industry, Herbst-Murphy has continued to monitor developments in prepaid cards.  Along with a co-author, she wrote two groundbreaking reports identifying a young, affluent, prepaid card “power user” group.  The reports explore how these “Millennials with Money” are influencing the dynamics of the prepaid card market.

Thea Garon

Senior Manager

Thea conducts research to monitor and analyze emerging trends in the financial services industry and shares her expertise with internal and external stakeholders. Thea is an expert on consumer experience and industry trends in the prepaid and payroll card industries. She also leads CFSI's Financial Health Measurement Project, an initiative designed to help financial service providers measure and improve their customers' financial health. Thea’s expertise and passion for her work derives from a longstanding commitment to working with underserved communities. Prior to joining CFSI, Thea interned as a policy analyst at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s (CFPB) Office of Financial Empowerment and worked as a research assistant at NYU’s Financial Access Initiative (FAI). Thea holds a Masters of Urban Planning from NYU’s Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service and graduated magna cum laude from Carleton College with a B.A. in History.


About the Association

The CPPO is a not-for-profit organization and the collective voice of the open-loop prepaid payments industry in Canada. It is the only association solely focused on this growing industry and includes the major players in open-loop prepaid in Canada.
